Bodie's story
This sweet little guy found himself homeless when his owner went to the hospital and did not return. A kind neighbor took Bodie in, and reached out to Worthy Dog Rescue for help. We are happy to help Bodie on his journey to his new life, and hope his previous owner knows he's now safe and in the loving care of a wonderful foster family now. 
Bodie was fearful when he first came into our care, having left the only home hes ever known. He is being fostered with multiple dogs, both large and small, and that was an adjustment for him coming from life as an only dog. He has settled in with the pack, but does have his favoritesHis BFF is the senior dog who has a more laidback energy. Bodie is a mature pup, and a little guy, who prefers calm friends.
It took some time for Bodie to warm up and trust his foster family and the other dogs in the home.  He preferred to stay in his crate initially because it was his "safe place but he could easily be coaxed out when he saw the leash and knew it was walk time. He enjoys walks and is great on leash. He is also fine with being carried once he knows you. 
Bodie is housetrained, crate trained, walks well on leash, and is fine with other dogs. He was initially protective over his food, so his foster mom fed him separately from the other dogs.  He is good with people,  but he may bark at first when he meets you. Bodie opened up and improved a lot in just a few weeks in his SC foster home, and we  think he will flourish in a quiet home with other calm dogs, or as an only dog, where he gets lots of love and attention. 
FOSTER UPDATE 5/20/18
Bodie arrived on transport yesterday and while a little scared of all the commotion, he was also great with the other dogs and connected quickly to his foster family. This little guys is more confident than expected, and is adapting well to the calm energy of his foster home. He's being fostered with 2 other small dogs, and his foster dad, Greg, offers this update:
"Bodie is adventurous, playful and energetic (not in a bad way). He isn't over affectionate (yet) after a day, but will already hop up in your lap to hang out. Our diva dog, Stella, allows this and seems to like him. They are about the same size also.
It has only been a day but he is doing fine with the pack, and hasn't looked for a crate or a place to hide. He is usually alert, just hanging out at our feet, and spent the night in our bed."
